CST has been shown to help relax tension patterns, and support children with AMC, “arthrogryposis”, and help those on the autism spectrum to be comfortable and aware of the world around them.
CST has been shown to assist children with ADHD, to help slow and relax brain activities.
CST helps to relax tensions around the eyes and ears, assisting the brain’s language processing, and visual and auditory functioning.
Parents stay in the therapy room and participate in their child’s session. They may lie on the table or the floor with their child, if that helps the child feel more comfortable.
Responses to CST may vary. Some children sleep, while others may stay alert, even crawl, fidget or play with toys to help distract them and keep them stationary.
CST uses gently touch, to evaluate rhythms, and tensions in the central nervous system, then very delicate manual methods are used to release restriction and there by improve functioning. Overall the sessions, are very relaxing, creating feelings of warmth, or gentle pulsation in areas where the therapist is working.
